You're probably still confused, so I can assure you that the answer given by Masked is absolutely correct.

Yes, there are at least two different revisions of these cards. Whether you can properly fit a waterblock on your specific card(s) is still a gamble.

I've already had to return a block that wouldn't fit. It was a rather large hassle that I choose to not go through again.

If, IF there is a GTX690 made available, watercooled and from EVGA, then both of my GTX590 Classified's are definitely going to be for sale.

Hell, I'm even considering GTX680's in tri-sli. Especially if Nvidia screws us over again as they did by undervolting all of the 590's just because a few dumbasses intentionally borked their cards just because they could, then post it on Facebook to hurt both Nvidia and all the people who bought these cards.

I'm completely convinced this was done by some jealous AMD fanboys since the 590's blew their Radeon 6990's away.

BTW, I've posted this before: http://vr-zone.com/articles/revised-geforce-gtx-590-cards-in-june/12222.html, read it yourself and decide who's right.

Glad to hear there are new, more stable revisions, because I've been thinking of replacing my 7970 with a 590. The only thing stopping me now is kepler but even then I doubt it'll outperform the 590 given that people are saying it trades blows with a 7970. Man I hate this time of the year where you feel you need to upgrade even thought you don't need it and there is always something new and possibility better less than a month away.

Can I be in the 590 club? I need some advises from the pros on here (if this is not the right place, please kindly guide me to the right page). thumb.gif

its a evga gtx 590 w/ XSPC waterblock installed the second the card came outta its evga box. The card idles at 41 C when I play BF3 the max will go to 90 C till I added a second rad (480 black ice stealth) and it brought few degrees down to 35c idle /87c max. It's on its dedicated loop 1/2 tubing DD5 (mp335)pump, ek coolant, 140mm phobya radiator push/pull and a second 480 black ice push/pull was added to bring the max down to 87C. Btw the thermal paste I used is something from Cooler Master High Performance paste, thats the only thing I had laying around when I was installing.

Does any1 know if that's normal or something wrong? I do have a D5 pump still in the box but too lazy to change the whole loop that involves new Res and new location to mount cuz I'm using the dual bay xspc dual 335 pumps res.

My PC spec (if some1 needs it):

Asus Rampage IV extreme (WC'd)
I7 -3960X 4.25Ghz
corsair dominator 32gb ram (WC'd)
Evga GTX 590 (WC'd)
OCz SSD 128GB
WD 1TB
CM 1200W PSU
Corsair 800D case

There's something very wrong there dude - possibly an air bubble in the block.

are there any other factor(s)? btw should one 480 black ice rad be sufficient to cool the 590 ?

Easily mate, yes. I would typically have suggested three things;

- poor flow.
- air pocket in the loop.
- inefficient TIM/poor application.

Your idle temps don't really suggest that here's a flow problem to be honest but the load temp is ~30c higher than I'd expect. Which could be explained by air in a block. The TIM always plays a part but a difference like that is too large really. You're running just the one card right?

yup, any suggestions on getting the air bubble out? I thought I had them all out by tilting the shT outta the case during filling lol

It was never a question of stability -- There were 0 issues with stability, period.

The issue was that, mid-run, they decided to compensate for, what we in the business coin as "Owner-operator stupidity" or, OOS.

They beefed up the back end so that, if someone DID decide to do what Sweclockers and others did (Again, against a major press release) then, they won't meed the same end.

Unfortunately, I think I've been through the most 590s on this forum redface.gif ~ The beefed up VRMS didn't really help all that much.

Since I now own my own business, I was asked by many potential customers to keep current and thus, I'm now running something else...I do miss my 590, tremendously and with EVGA's new RMA policy, I miss it a little bit more.

Still, it should be noted that, aside from OOS, there were never any issues with this card from a hardware standpoint, it's always been a driver-related issue, especially when related to throttling.
