I really don't know if it's enough as I don't have personal experience with it. But from various benchmarks, it seems the 1.5gb fairs well enough. Not so much in BF3, but any other game it isn't a problem.

Yeah thats what i thought... In BF3 the vram could be an issue with 2650 gaming

BTW i OCed my GPU exactly 10% making it 667 mhz and memory is 1750. i played BF3 for a good while and i had the exact same temperatures with just 10% more fan speed.

I used to have low 80s at 75% and now i have low 80s at 85% ( i am also using my own fan profile )

I wonder if i can push it even higher.

When you get your new fan, you do just that. Let us know what you come up with.

Ocing over 5% gave me stability issues at the end

I am now at 637 mhz.

I will tweak the voltage later but i might not. I guess it voids the warranty.

I posted this earlier, maybe you missed it:

Draw a graph with those two points as the end points... scaling between them is almost linear.....

while you can go higher, stability isn't maintained..... or you have stability, but see graphical artifacts....

The ultimate irony is that I'm now actually sponsored by the same companies that refused to sponsor AW because of Dell -- So, booya to that!
I'm not leaving OCN nor, this thread since I'm still working on the drivers.
Once I get settled and my work-space is built (The best companies in the world started in the basement) -- I'm going to apply to be a vendor, here...Actually.
I already have 20-30 builds lined up including some major players in NYC...
Will be PM'ing Rush in the upcoming weeks and we'll get started on this debacle...Don't worry, will have something for you all soon.

That is Jedi news. Just out of curiosity, is your company going to be building gaming notebooks as well? I'm dying for a new one, especially an M11x killer with a proper panel. Though to be honest, I don't know how much I'd need one right now after the wife bought me a PS Vita. I am so taken with that little console. Pretty much the reason I haven't been around as much the last week and a half. She bought me the Vita and I bought her the new IPad, and I have to say, the Vita just kicks it's ass in terms of games and game play. And we both seem to be more taken with the Vita's OLED screen than the IPad Retina, though that may be because we're IPad 2 owners. I don't know how to best describe why the Vita kicks my ass so hard as a gamer, but there's something about the blend of the controls, touch screen and beautiful display that just makes it so captivating. Especially as a portable. Of course I'll always need a note book for games like SWTOR, but I wouldn't be worried at all if I was traveling and all I had was my Vita. If you're a gamer and don't need an IPad for work stuff and are getting one for content consumption and entertainment purposes, then seriously consider the Vita. Especially if you already own an IPad. My only concern for the console is developer support for it. But of course if they see the console selling...

Back on topic -

120hz gaming is a sensation like no other and you should definitely pick up one of those displays if you can afford one. That being said, I'm actually really torn right now about whether to play Mass Effect 3 @ 120fps/120hz on my 24" BenQ 3D Display, or @ 60fps/60hz on my 60" Pioneer Kuro plasma. I've been playing it on the Kuro, if that says anything. I might play it tonight on the BenQ.

Speaking of BenQ, SMO and I both use the same model, the XL2410T, which has recently been replaced by their new XL2420T. The new one has Nvidia's new 3D Vision2 Light boost whereas the one we have doesn't, but last year's model is still an excellent display and can probably found heavily discounted. FYI, it will need to be calibrated (you can find calibration profiles online) it looks like arse out of the box, but is excellent once a proper calibration profile is applied.

I'm really, really psyched to hear that the 590 still outperforms the 680. And while I'm sure two 680's SLI normally will outperform 2 590's in Quad, I really would like to test that real world once Masked and the other Shinobi make these new drivers, if Nvidia doesn't come through. Somehow, I have a feeling the results may be different... ninja.gif

Hmm Kuro Plasmas are amazing and thats a tough decision you are facing there. However i like to game very close to my monitor due to being more into the game this way, but again Kuro displays are amazing.

So i guess that you are skipping of upgrading to 6xx series as well?
