i think you think im arguing with you and its not the case here....... this is what nvida puts in there control panel thats all....3way sli
and yes i understand what a gpu is and understand what you mean by 590's in sli, yes it is two physical cards each card being dual gpu

Yeah -- That's something new and I'm not trying to insult you, I come off as being...Abrasive, I'm really not...In fact, my only objection thus far was/is the voltages you claim to differ on water -- That's a falsity, 100% ~ Ohm's law proves this is absolutely false so, your maximum safe voltage is 1.05v period.

It's interesting they changed core to GPU ~ I wonder how long that's been around -- Anyone notice that pre-680? ~ I know it wasn't there before but, every release they update the splash so, that may be the new "terminology" etc.

I'm also kind of miffed they now allow you to tri-sli cores on the GUI?

So, I formally withdraw, actually...

Someone sell me a pair of 590's, damn-it.

@ Xraze

No.

Windows 7, in fact every windows since XP has allowed for dual driver profiles...So, I had a 590 operating my middle monitor with both cores SLI'd and the 580 was operating the 2 wide monitors, solo.

Word on the street is that the 680's will be SLI-able with the 690 ~ Something we all look forward to.

Yeah, I'm also pretty sure 7970 can be Crossfired with 7990, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes you can, it's called CrossfireX. Two cards that are the same is Crossfire, when one is different then it's CrossfireX.

I can't speak about the 7990's so, I apologize but, in terms of the 6 series, yes.

In fact, the 6990 is a beast so, it actually performed, almost equally to the 6970's.

You still suffered @ a 5-10% total loss in performance vs. 3x6970's but, for 2 slots, it's not a major loss. thumb.gif

i totally understand what you mean by voltage.... voltage is voltage no matter what, if the vrm's can handle it its one thing but if they cant they cant, i water cool as much as i can on everything as i dont like heat and it does help alot with stressing things i believe. one thing i have noticed more so with these 590's is that they vary more then every other card i have seen in a while, seems alot of people report more differences with these cards from one to the other then most. if they blow they blow then i can say i had fun....lol, as for the maximum safe voltage at 1.05v i agree with you 100% on that and my cards have never seen that voltage either, i used 1.02v but never actually saw that, i saw 0.988mv at 750core and have never attempted to take the cards past 750 either as the chances of them going up in smoke are way more likely at those clocks. like i give my cpu 1.35v on core at 4.626ghz and it only uses 1.32 under load but these things vary per chip and same goes for most things too as well. as far as the future 690 goes, i wont give up these 590's for one unless i see a major major improvement over the 590, i know 590's have had a few flaws here and there but they are great cards in the end and i hold nvidia drivers responsible for there flaws mainly in the past of limiting....... as for the vrm's thats another story, people are just gonna have to be carefull thats all u can do, nvidia gave warning on that already and now that the voltage cap is gone people should just be carefull with it.

also i didnt take your tone real personal either, thats why i was telling you i wasnt mad about it, just was trying to make you aware of what i was saying, sometimes its easier for people to show what they mean then say what they mean, these forums are for everyone to help each other in some way and thats they way i look at it and took it..... so atleast we have become familiar with each others views and it will help all of us in the end. you gotta admit it was a good clean conversation back and forth. Masked, i have seen other post by you and see you help people here and there by offering a hand with things and again thats what this is about, i plan on being active here at this site so consider us friends.

these are the settings i settled on in nibitor: ( if it helps you )
default clocks are now - 650/1300/1800
voltages are: 1.005 max setting at the top
0.875 0.875
0.925 0.950
0.988 0.988
here they are if you wanna copy them over to yours, i can run the cards to 750 core easy but wont go past that even though it will do it. my cards are ASUS.
