If thats what he wants to do he is entitled to do it. There is so much negativity around these cards I thought about returning it.
I have more to lose than most, not just my cash, but I am coming from twin GTX 580s.
And I'm coming from a 6990...
I realize I live in an office of enthusiasts, I get that however, this card has yet to mature...
Nvidia ****ed up, period...Bad bios, bad drivers...Cards over vaulted; I get that.
Yet, there's so much mis-information being passed around, like throttling, that even those of you IN THIS THREAD, begin to believe it and it's pure bull****.
I just updated my NGINX server yesterday, finally ditching a lifetime of actual throttling on an apache server...So, believe me, I KNOW what throttling is.
The drivers aren't mature enough to call it anything beyond choking and I'd actually give you choking because the drivers suck huge ass but, we're FAR from throttling.
In 2-3 months if we're seeing the same results; it's throttling...For now, it's not.
Same thing goes for these cards "blowing up"...The bios sucks ass, looks like a 6th grader wrote it, I agree 100% they dropped the ball...Just don't be stupid and your card won't burn out.
I mean common sense guys...come on.
Same EXACT thing happened with the 295's...Same EXACT thing happened with the 59's and the 69's...How quickly we are to forget...Edited by Masked - 3/31/11 at 7:50pm
