NVIDIA GTX 590 Owners Club - Page 48

I don't ever recall gtx295s blowing out.
I don't recall any negative feedback during reviews, other than hot, loud, etc..

I had 2 of them, dual pcb, are you perhaps referring to the single pcb 295?

I can remember one game and one synthetic that didn't do well, Bioshock and 06.
Other than that I had no issues with my 295s.
Even here in our 295 members thread, there was more praise than anything regarding the 295.

hey masked could you post a screenshot of gpuz at your overclock for me? Also... run a single run of 3dmark and post the link..... I am calling your bluff on that overclock, unless I see some proof that it can stably complete a benchmark.
-----------------

And yes I realize my cpu isn't amazing awesome..... I do not think it is holding back the graphics card though. I will work on overclocking it today... see if I can break the 4 ghz barrier with some volt increases.....

even with my 2500K at 4.6, the dips were there...

MASK, play with your card, use EVGA precision or another monitoring software that has IN-GAME overlay...and tell me your clocks never change whatsoever...

Perhaps not here but, EVGA's forums, back when Asus had forums...They were littered with people whom had their 295's blown out within the first 2 weeks.

Ours blew out and then the replacements blew out...Thus, this office never actually went with the 295's; we stuck with 280's and later the 285's.

There's definitely info out there on it...It was a big deal for about 2 weeks then forgotten about...This 590 issue, isn't going to be a quick fix, unfortunately.

The issue is...You're not listening.

Even if you bench this card, you won't get real results...Drivers haven't matured enough to get a fair assessment so, why would I waste my time?

Since I'm still at work, here's my GPU-Z of the office PC. I step it up daily to see what I can do under stock voltages until the new drivers come out but, quite frankly, without the new drivers...I haven't even installed vantage at home yet and it won't do anyone, any good because SLI isn't scaling properly.

When working drivers come out, that actually scale, that don't choke the card...that function WELL...I'll be among the first people to give the vast majority the finger...Until then, it's sheathed.

Work PC btw:

It's 24/7 ~ I haven't started tweaking the MC yet b/c I hear that's where people have the most issues but, I have none.

I got both cards...

I had my GTX295 (duel pcb) for over two years and it has been overclocked to 686c\\1496\\1213 since day one...

it plays every games smoothly (except you know)

I'm @stock(630 clock) with my GTX590 right now...

it's fast enough for my need...and I won't lost sleep if I didn't overclock/overvolting it...and I already tested almost every game that I have...it seems nothing wrong with my card...

but for enthusiast folks here...spending US$700-800+ or even over thousand may expecting more which totally entitled to...

but nonetheless, Masked,I'm praising your positive energy that you bring to this GTX590 issues and to the Club as we may need it at the moment ~

Peace

Agreed. ANY card can die at some point. Finding random GTX295's that have died should be fairly easy considering how long they have been out at this point. I just swapped my BFG GTX295 for this GTX590, and I have had NO issues with my old dual PCB card. I have also NEVER heard of issues with them blowing up other than 1 or 2 cards dieing over time, as is expected with any electronics.

You keep saying the evidence of the same thing happening with the GTX295s is out there so we need to look it up. YOU are the one making such a bold claim that nobody here seems to remember. If the GTX295 had these issues, YOU prove it and show some links, since YOU are making the claims. That's how using facts to backup your statements works. I can tell you right now these issues did not exist with the GTX295. There were some driver issues related to SLI, that's about it.

While I am hoping that these issues are primarily due to heat, limiting problems on my watercooled card, there's no doubt the GTX590s have some serious concerns that are NOT common
