Thanks! How come you got rid of your 590's? Didn't like the fact you couldn't overclock them to 580 speeds? That's understandable I suppose. Especially for the price. However, I doubt pushing two 580 TDP's in one cooler would work very well in the first place. Unless you watercool, forget it! I pretty much upgrade to the newest Dual GPU every generation. Buying a waterblock every generation would cost much more. Because I sell old, buy new, aftermarket installs of stuff would make it harder to sell. What I do is not the most cost effective solution, or the best bang for buck...but we're enthusiasts. We don't really care about that. Hence why we have hundreds of posts in a forum such as overclock.net. A 'waste' of money for what we use our computers for (heavy gaming and entertainment) are things like 990x's and stuff just for that higher bench score.

Bring on Kepler dual GPU! I'm staying Green until AMD fix their vaccume cleaners and polish their drivers. 3870x2 -> 4870x2 -> 5970 - gave them a good three year chance. Over it.

Reigns ... i had some problems with my card ... and i really didn't like what i saw after inspecting the vrm circuit ... i always try to get cards that have a strong vrm. When testing the Asus, before launch, the drivers were ok ... i was getting almost the same benchmark than 580 SLi's ... it was between the 570SLi and 580Sli ... after the release of the first set of upgrade drivers those numbers went down to 36k ...

Meanwhile i had to return the sample to other reviewers.
Last week i got the change to bench test a Point of View Ultra Charged ... and my experience wasn't that good. New drivers don't give you the possibility to change voltages ... and i got several lock ups and freezes... and erratic performance.

So... i decided to not going dual gpu in the generation. My GTX295 was a performer... it was a fun card to have... this one i didn't get that much fun with it ... And knowing how the vrm is built, i know that the card it's already at it's limit...

Having 2 fully unlocked GF110s and not having the possibility to use it and have fun with it... it's not in my "notebook" as a "must have" card

So ... now ... i'm working with a Radeon 5850 that i had laying around here ... and still deciding on what to get ... eheheh...

If a 590 version with upgraded VRM "comes to shore" ... then i'm all into it ... that's why i didn't buy anything right away ... i'm still w8 for a official position from Nvidia about this ... either "The card is working properly ... and what you see is what you get" or ... " The card is having some problems and we're working on a solution ... " or " Please wait for our partners to launch custom design cards ..."

Of course, i know that, knowing Nvidia, this is a long shot ... and the day were they will do a official statement may never come

I got rid of mine for the same reasons PEDRO did....

ERRATIC performance...intermittent downclocks...i realise new products have teething problems, but nvidia reproduced the "weak" VRM mistakes they did with the 570s...they have no excuses, they had lots of indications they cheaped out on the 570s, they should've acklowledge, do something about it and don't reproduce the same mistakes...

I'm trying to go back to the green team, but they won't let me!!!
I can't afford SLI 580...so I look towards SLI570s, but weak vrms...I look towards SLI560 TI SC, but then, it's not that much of a enthusiast's setup anymore...2 lesser cards...single 580 for $500??? I might as well re-install my HD5870 and wait for something next-gen...

Or look for a crossfire setup (which I'm afraid of...driver wize)

One day I'm going to go office space on our Apache server, I swear to god...

Anyway, I'm still holding to the fact that, nothing is working properly for this card...

It is erratic, terrible performance, absolutely agree without question...But, there is a history.

My stance is simple and hasn't changed from day 1...Give this card some time, they will hopefully "fix" it's issues.

If you could see Alienware's database of 295 RMA's, I could prove my stance without question but, unfortunately, I can't...I can tell you, there are over 600 RMA's within the 1st week of OUR releasing it...I wasn't doing our inventory back then but, we ordered MAYBE 1500 cards. 900/1500 is NOT reliable...And is certainly more problem-prone then this release...SAME of the 7900...

The same goes for this release...The drivers aren't there, in my opinion, the bios isn't there...Any fix is going to take time.

You're either willing to give it time or, not.

P.S. I overclock and I bench, however, I don't needlessly stress my parts without knowing it's for a cause and is actually going to perform...With the drivers and bios the way they are now, why risk my card blowing out? It's not YOUR risk...My work PC is functioning fantastically OC'd at 702, CS5 and flash just kicked it out to 100% and it's still going. ~ 24/7

Did Nvidia announce if they're making a new Revision of the GTX590?

My other friend's GTX590 just died with no OC.

I was going to buy a GTX590 for my 2nd RIG mainly for Folding@Home 24/7, but I think I may wait for a new revision, you think Nvidia will release a better revision with more quality vrm's/phases ?

I am quite scared tbh, I was about to buy one yesterday

Baloney, what did your friends card with link have to do with you buying a GTX 590 only if they come out with a second revision? You were making a back handed point about the Vram issue. I know this because I read your posts on ATI threads and you've put down Nvidia and you have no intention on buying one. That was an under handed troll.

No, you're completely wrong about my point.

I'm asking wether Nvidia is going to make a new revision or not.

I was actually about to click the BUY button last night for a POV 590, but before I do so, I would like to know if there's a permanent fix for it?

Trust me, I'm not a fanboy of any mark, I've also got a GTX570 and GTX285 in my other rigs, soon to be x2 570 in my 2nd rig as well (Although I don't know how good it will do on a 1055T, might need to grab an i5 2500k hehe).

Anyways, I'm sorry if I bothered you, it was not by any means my intention.

I definitely want a GTX590 as soon as I am guaranteed I will be safe with it, trust me, I'm in love with that card on a single pcb.
