NVIDIA GTX 590 Owners Club - Page 73

that contrast ratio isn't very good. DCR stands for dynamic contrast ratio.... aka what is the brightest white it can display ever, compared to the darkest black ever.

A better contrast ratio measurement is SCR, or static contrast ratio..... aka what is the brightest white it can display while at the same time displaying the darkest black.

So I would say the contrast they are posting there is misleading... and because they posted that misleading statistic I question the response time as well......

My current monitor is DCR and 80,000:1 and does a fantastic job. This monitor does have a response rate of 5ms, but I wonder if its BTB and not GTG. A lot of companies claim 2ms/5ms but have to specify GTG as its easier than BTB to achieve. I am assuming it does have some money saving features on it, but in relation to the price I am sure they can be justified.

The price is very luring. I will get one, and let you all know how it goes, then consider an additional two.

The size/bezel is very decent for a tri-monitor setup. I was supposed to be waiting for a while on this... but now I am not sure.

5760x1080 has to be decently playable with 2x GTX 590s.

EDIT:
After playing with the settings, the monitor is a cherry, picked up 2 more for Surround. Now, if I only had 2x GTX 590s...

That kind of sucks about not been able to up the voltage at all now.

How about flashing the cards to the Original Asus GTX 590 Bios and using the Asus Voltage Tweak Utility?

Or do the drivers still prevent the voltage from being touched at all?
