hey guys. I was all ready to buy my p8p67 deluxe board but when i got to the checkout it had been removed from my cart due to being out of stock.

So I decided to buy the gigabyte ud4. It should be arriving today. The thing is, when I got home from work that same day the p8p67 deluxe was back in stock. Immediately I started having buyers remorse. I said to myself: "oh why didnt i wait!"

So I bought the p8p67 deluxe as well which should be here sometime next week.

Now the hard part is deciding which to keep and which to send back. At this point in time the money is not a big issue. I know the p8p67 deluxe isnt really in the same class as the ud4. Which one do you guys think I should keep?

I was hoping to hear from someone who has owned both a gigabyte and an asus p67 board. Has anyone switched from gigabyte to asus or vice versa during the recall?

I understand all p67 overclock roughly the same, but the deluxe has alot more features then the ud4. More sata ports, intel lan, more power phases, power/reset/cmos button.

But at the same time, im not sure if I like the idea of only being able to overclock on an asus board with a turbo multiplier. The gigabyte boards will let you lock in the multiplier/frequency if you wanted to. Also I hear the gigabyte boards have better vdroop control.

Also the board will be teamed up with a 2600k and everything else in my sig rig minus the board and cpu.

Please, all opinions are welcomed. I will be adding a poll i think here shortly.

Hey man, if money is not a big issue I'd stay with the deluxe board.

Even though the deluxe has the turbo overclock, I don't see anything wrong with that.. (can that possibly be changed with a bios update? anyone know?)

More power phases is a YES if you are ocing plus you get sweet features like Bluetooth, on board buttons and whatnot.

Good luck, nice build ;D

Thank you. Your comments/opinions are greatly appreciated. At this point in time I am leaning more towards asus. The ud4 isnt much of a comparison with the deluxe. And the ud5 is overpriced for what features it comes with.

Thing is I have never owned an asus board. Ive always been a gigabyte fan up until my last build in which I ended up getting an evga board. And despite what alot of people say about evga, it has been one hell of a solid board. Overclocks like a beast. Loaded with features. I almost dont want to let it go.

so far theres 4 for asus and 1 for gigabyte.

I just got an email back from newegg, and they said if i no longer wish to receive the gigabyte board that i can refuse delivery from fedex and that will automatically generate an rma when it gets returned. The nice lady even offered to refund me my overnight shipping cost which was $30.

i tell ya, newegg is fantastic about stuff like this.
