I wouldnt buy hybrids like H50/70
D14,SA are beeter than H70 with less noise because you need really high RPM fans for H70 to be better and I dont think u would like that noise

go for air with D14 or SA

[quote=Smithers;12879852]Damn. Really? Good to know. I feel like an old man in here. I used to build Athlon 1GHZ systems with water cooling 10 years ago. The Zalman had decent specs on a last build but I suppose it may be a big under spec'd for this build? I couldn't help but notice that the CM Hyper 212+ seems to be the sink of choice? Should I get that or get a PnP water setup and call it a day. Here's a pic of my case I built in 99'. It was a full tower server case I rescued from the trash. Installed the window and hit it with some PPG paint leftover from a C4 Vette. I love it too much to upgrade. I can't believe 10 years later the ATX platform is still alive and well.

The 212 can keep my toasty i7 cool

Thanks for the information. You guys were right. I put the AMD cooler back on now i'm idling at 31C @64W. I'm going to play some Homefront on max and check back in. I'll take a look at the various coolers. I'd like to get back into OC'ing. I used to have a peltier with home made water cooling in my day which was rediculously cold. I heard 4ghz on air isn't that hard of a goal with this processor.

corsair A70 would have been a good choice as well. you should get another fan for a push pull on the 212+.

May I suggest upgrading to a Cooler Master Hyper 212+? Great cooler as well as being cheap.
