GIF creation

Thread Starter
Does anyone have any useful information on how to make GIFs from video (particularly AVI but also others)?

I originally wanted to use Photoshop CS5, but it is telling me the extract frames from video feature is only available on 32-bit PS.

I then used GIMP but the GIFs are (A) way too large (file size) and (B) really laggy and don't transition smoothly.

I would appreciate any help I can get!

My sig gif is made in After Effect. Thats the only thing that i could use and get a nice output.
If that vid isn`t that big and you got no solution i could .gif it for you ...
