WC'ed 6950 is a BRICK

Thread Starter
I bought this water block and installed it on my 6950...it is now a huge brick. It works perfectly and looks great but it weighs it down something horrible. I'm afraid the board is going to eventually bend to the point of being incorrectable. I'm thinking of putting something in my case to prop it up...any ideas/past experiences?

The board may warp; a backplate or support is probably a good idea. My old 8800GTS warped a bit, but that was due mostly to the design of the block- it didn't have standoffs so tensioning the screws allowed the card to bend. This may or may not be an issue for you block.

It does have standoffs. Trying to think which would look less ugly; a skyhook or a pole.

A piece of monofilament fishing line could work, it's clear and small diameter, tie it somewhere inconspicuous and then run it up to the top of the case somewhere... Otherwise the backplate should be enough.
