[GZ] Valve discusses plans for the future of Steamworks on consoles - Page 3

To be completely honest I would actually use my ps3 for games if I had access to all 100+ steam games I have. It'll never happen, I know, but even if its just valves games we could play I would at least use my ps3 for more than playing media*.

HL2 + CS (IMO)

It's what made Valve what it is today.

doubt it will happen, publishers like EA wouldn't allow it. EA knows they are losing to valve in the PC market so why would they allow them to do it on the console market too.

In your opinion.

Half-Life 2 (and the episodes), along with MGS3, are my favorite all-time games. Closely followed by Portal (despite being a rather short game). So if you ask me, HL2 is the best game Valve has released. It's all opinion, nobody can definitively say that one game is/isn't their best game, as it's all personal preference.

And I don't agree with the "if it's not Ep. 3 then shut up" comment(s). I want to hear about anything and everything that Valve does (with the exception of Dota 2), because I love everything that they do (except dota).

Valve programmer Jeep Barnett has described the integration of Steamworks in the PS3 version of Portal 2 as a "first step", telling GamerZines about future plans the developer has for the system on consoles.

"We were talking earlier about being able to buy (Portal 2) for PS3 and have a linked version for PC and Mac as well," said Barnett talking to us last week. "Well, we'd love to go the other way with it.

"Say you buy it on PC and then you have a downloadable version for PS3. That would be beautiful and is something that I would personally like to see next. But there are a lot of other things too.
What the hell? I thought it did work both ways. My friend was gonna play on his PS3 with me when I buy the PC version, since I wanted the box. This is stupid.
