You would think but I guess theres been many a wall with these sandy bridge chips. Its not temperature induced becasue I am now at -5*C in BIOS. Just the way they are.

Disabling it might be able to lower heat a bit, and should certainly allow you to boot in with a lower vcore. Just my 2c.

Have fun, looking forward to seeing where you get
I had HT enabled that whole time. Hit a wall at 5.7 though. Max voltage is 1.7. Never even went up to zero degrees. Lol. Damn Intel chips. They OC on an everyday OC but not so good under phase/DICE I hear.

Custom unit from Sdumper. Check my sig. Thing is a beast. Might be up for sale. Kinda bummed with the performance of this Intel chip and wifey says I can't be having this thing on all the time. She flipped when she found out how much I paid for it, lol.

Yea I had her there for a buddy, was making a funny spray for l4d2.

Kinda pissed about these chips under "performance" settings. Funny thing is I have voltage maxed out at 1.7 but actual voltage only reads like 1.61. Think I would be able to squeeze more out of it if it did what it was supposed to.

Not a bad effort with HT enabled mate. The 1155 chips don't get much further on extreme cooling than they do on more average cooling types, such as air. Intel only gave us one way to overclock these things, so there's no playing around with BLCK to pass a wall or anything like that. It's just the way it is.

The good news is we're able to hit insane clocks for 24/7 use on air or water, and performance is fantastic.

What are your turbo settings? These boards are finicky if you leave them on auto...

Wow, very well put. It's funny how we're all in the 4.6+ range...and not happy with it
