custom loop temps

i have never had a pre built water system or even a water loop at all. so i am not sure what to really expect or if i have done something wrong. i am having trouble ocing my i7 930 as it is. i have my bclk at 205 with vcore at 1.4 vtt 1.375 and pll at 1.88.

my ambient temps are around 20c and now my custom loop is installed after two days of running no stress testing yet. but my temps are around 35c idle and 60c loaded....is this any good?

i am not sure what to expect as i have never played with it yet. i am sure i need to refine my oc but i am looking to get higher. i know i have a high vcore but i am aiming for the sky with this custom loops. i have a 240 gt rad mcp 355 xspc res, compression fittings, and 4 ap 14's in a push pull configuration. and a ek supreme full nickel block.

i can't help but think that my temps are high

Your temps are pretty good actually. Mine idles around 31C and runs under load at 57C or so, but I have a little more radiator real estate than you do. If you want lower temps, you could upgrade to a 360 rad. But as long as your temps are stable and under 80C under load you are perfectly fine.

i am just all up in my head that i just bought this 300 loop that i am not getting what i paid for but this could also be that i just not have any confirmation or extensive knowledge about water loops. the first time i set it up i didnt' seal the 355 right when i filled the res water poured all through it then my smart *** decided to reseal it and fill it and turn it on less than 10 min later. smart right lol. this is why i am concerned that i am not gettin what i should. thank you sir. +rep. my lan boy air only really looks nice with the 240 on top so the 360 would be a later upgrade when i get a bigger case. if i even do.

with a loop like i have do i really have to worry about volts? or are temps what kill the i7's. i have heard both

I had an extremely difficult time getting my 930 oced to 4.3, 4.4. It would run stable for a day or so but then crash. I had fiddled around with all my settings Ram timings, chipset voltages and still nothing so after 2 weeks I decided to say fk it and just stick to 4.2 24/7 And I havnt had a crash in a long time. I am running 21 x 200 @ 1.384 v and my temps are mid to high 60's (100% load from folding 24/7) with my room ambient around 73 F. In order to get my 4.4 stable I needed close to 1.5 V and had to chill my room down the 65 F by leaving the window open so my temps didn't exceed 80 C. And honestly 4.2 on a on a 2.8 base is 150% more Where 4.4 is 157% more not worth the extra 7% to lower the life on a 200$ processor. Plus it only gave me a like 1k more ppd.

Also Load temps are the only ones that matter anyhow idle temps don't tell you jack. Also for the i7 typically you wanna stay under 80c and under 1.5V if you run 24/7.

Those temps are actually pretty good. I have an EK supreme HF Full Copper and a SR-1 420 rad and my temp are around 30C idle and never reach more than 50-55C load.
