Hard-Drive Issue Help ASAP please

Thread Starter
I recently got a smart error warning via windows 7.

And I have just saw these things via hdtune.

I have seen it could be a issue with my motherboard, I have already swapped the cables over. and not since built the sys myself,

I just hope it's nothing to do with the motherboard. could the Ultra DMC error's be caused by your motherboard all the time? or could it be a faulty connection port on my hard drive it's self? I am going to replace the hard-drive it's self anyway.

Just for the note: the system is very very stable and has been for a while, i had it running for 30 days straight and it just randomly BDOSED out of nowhere.

System Specs:

Amd Phenom B60 x4 3.3ghz
4GB Cosair DDR3 1333MHZ
Gigabyte Mobo
ATI 5770 XFX
Cosair H70 cooling unit.

Backup and replace that hard drive as soon as possible. Check the warranty, probably still covered - you might get lucky.

You'll notice degradation (slowness) after a couple of reboots and suddenly it will just stop working.

Does it seem like anything is wrong with the motherboard or what?

I have also noticed this, when ever i turn the computer off the hard-drive is not working properly. when i turn it on it makes a wierd noise. like a clicking noise I have to unplug the sata cable while it's on just for it to work and detect it, but my other hard drive does not have any such issues.

The CRC error is something that once it's tripped (normally by a bad connection or a bad cable) will always show up in SMART even after the problem has been fixed. About all you can do is jot down the numbers for it and watch to see if they change.

The Spin Up time is normally triggered by trying to start a very cold drive or one with a bearing failing in the motor or motor failing. At least that is what I've encountered. I would suggest running the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility to see if it pops out a defective code and RMA it.

It's definitely defective then. Backup the data and replace it as soon as possible. The next time you shut it down it might not restart.

I can use my old 80GB seagate barracuda. had that for a few year's until I can afford to replace it. Just have to backup the data. does all the other readings look fine?

The only one that looks bad is the Spin-Up Time and that's probably related to the noise you hear on startup.

Thank you. I will just replace it, but the noises are not when the hard-drive is plugged in, because it don't detect the hard-drive, like if i turn the system off via the plug it will do it I have to unplug the SATA cable, had the same issue now for months as I salvaged my old hard drive out of my old system.

A few of my drives have DMA CRC errors, never had any worries anywhere though, as long as it's stable.
Been running my OS for over a year on it.
If your spin-up time is high, I would really check connections/if your PSU is good. If that is all fine I'd RMA the hard drive, they usually have 3-5 years of warranty.

It's a decent PSU the one I have a GTX CM 550W PSU.

I have uploaded the info from CPU hardware monitor.
Ignore it not showing the CPU temp's i think it's due to it being a dualcore unlocked to a quad core.

The system it's self is nice and stable had it running for 30 days without a crash but then just suddenly froze out of nowhere but other then that it runs fine.

The temps are around 4-11C in dual-core mode but double that in quad-core mode.

Does the voltages look stable?
