Ignore it not showing the CPU temp's i think it's due to it being a dualcore unlocked to a quad core.

The system it's self is nice and stable had it running for 30 days without a crash but then just suddenly froze out of nowhere but other then that it runs fine.
If you are referring to a CoolerMaster GX 550 then you are fooling yourself that it is a decent unit. It's a mediocre Seventeam built unit that uses an antiquated design. I doubt it can produce a legitimate 400 to 450 watts without the ripple going out of spec. I wouldn't use it to power a two dollar computer, let alone anything of value.

Erm...

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/550w-...-12v-120mm-fan

Are we talking about the same thing? so basically your saying this CM PSU is not that good?

I have CM everything in this machine including an HAF 955.

I would say it's enough to power the system I have unless I go crossfire, as I might do that at the end of the year when I have some money.

That's exactly what I'm saying. The only good CM psus are the Enhance built Silent Power Pros and possibly a couple of others.

Could you suggest me a long lasting PSU that supports crossfire for future upgrades?

Would you say this is a good PSU? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/650w-...-12v-120mm-fan

I have re-attached a benchmark of the degrading HD it's been like this for months. 1 moment it's slow 1 moment it's fast.

It's due to the card at the bottom has been bent, must be loose. but I will replace it on monday.

the write speed seems to be alright but it does bottleneck a lot.

I'd say samsung HD'S are the worst make ever. had my seagate 80GB barracuda for about 3 year's now.

I'm not liking the yellow dots that out of confidence line... Are you able to format and test that drive or your running your OS on it?

EDIT: Just saw your CPUID HM screenshot and there are numbers that seem very off to me.
The 1.42V for the CPU is around usual limits, but the -8.xxV ont eh -5V and +3.6v on the +5V is stretching it O_O
I'm not even sure where to start by looking at that...
If your PSU gives you 3.6v on the same +5v that your HD is on, it's possible that is your issue.

I am using it right now running my MAIN OS on it, I don't like it either, I don't have any other solution just windows XP on a disk, and that causes a BDOS. I have tried a few things like a disk check that comes back fine.

Any other hard-drive checker utility?

That drive is toast. That other PSU is still a GX. All of the GX's are mediocre at best, and junk at worst. You need to click on the User CP at the top of this page, then scroll down the left side to the Add System link and enter in your system specs in as much detail as possible. By that I mean 2 x 2gig G.Skil PC2-8500 CL5 ram instead of 4 gig ram, etc. That way we have some idea of what we are dealing with. While you are at it, go to the Edit Your Details link, then scroll down towards the bottom and fill in the Where You Live with at least your country. It makes things so much easier when people know what country you are from when recommending products.

But you should make a post in the Power Supply Forum about which PSU to get once you fill in your specs. Off of the top of my head the Antec EarthWatts or High Current Gamer would probably be good choices as would the Seasonic in the 500 to 700 watt range depending on your hardware.

A buddy of mine toasted 2 drives in a few months... I'm still puzzled at what went wrong. What Gigabyte mobo are you using?

The CRC error count could just have happened when you unplugged the SATA cable at some point in the past. It's nothing to worry about unless the (raw) value increases, then you should maybe worry.

The spin up time value means that at some point in the past, the drive took far longer than it should have to spin up. But this didn't happen on the most recent boot, where it took 5.23 seconds, a reasonable value. It seems more likely that you have PSU issues, as others have suggested. The SMART error log may have more info, but HD Tune doesn't have the capability to show it. You'll need a tool like GSmartControl to inspect the error log.

Now if you continue to have issues with a new and improved PSU, then it may well be the hard drive, and at that point I would say it's safe to RMA it. But without more info, I'm going to go with the PSU.
