issue with subwoofer

Thread Starter
A few months ago we purchased a whole home theater set up with a sony receiver and added a sub we had lying around that my uncle never bothered to pickup. I had it hooked up through the LFE port on the receiver and into the RCA ports on the sub but those have now gone kaputz and I am now stuck with a non working sub. I noticed the High Level Inputs on the sub and I was wondering If it was possible to splice the RCA to those ports or just run the speaker wire through the sub and into the satellites. Anybody here with experience in this subject care to enlighten me?

Most subs that have Hi level inputs have a speaker level output as well. I'd use that.

Here's what you do:

1. Run speaker cables from receiver to subwoofer (both channel)
2. Run speaker cables from subwoofer to speakers.

Basically you need 4 pairs of speaker cables.
