is it safe to solder speaker to mobo?

Thread Starter
Some mobo's dont have built in speakers but I can see speaker pinouts on them where the speaker should have gone.. (- and +),

Even though they do have a speaker input to connect a case speaker on it. But I'd imagine that it'd be better if we could just solder it onto the board and never have to bother worrying about you know connecting while diagnosing or whatever we do.

I have normal solder skills. is it safe and can I solder a speaker(those small black cylinder ones) to the board?

I don't see how it would be a bad thing. Go for it, and if it doesn't work then oh well. Just my 2 cents.
