(Closed) Many positions available with Overclock.net!

Thread Starter
The time has once again come for us to fill a great many positions within the Overclock.net team, and we'd like your help to do it. It has been quite some time since we've had a large call for nominations such as this, so please read all of the below - there is lots of information on who and what we're looking for and how to apply for yourself or nominate another member.

--Available Positions--

First, a sampling of duties for each volunteer position:

As a Forum Moderator, your duties would include:
  • Maintaining an active presence within the community, ideally multiple times daily
  • Maintaining an active presence within moderator discussions
  • Reviewing and taking action on reported posts for your section each time you visit the site
  • Ensuring your respective section(s) is on topic, compliant with the ToS and drama-free

As a Forum Editor, your duties would include:
  • Showcasing the best content of Overclock.net to the members
  • Working in conjunction with Moderators and other staff to ensure your section is best of breed in content, features and offerings
  • Creating and coordinating events and activities associated with your discipline on Overclock.net
  • Maintaining an active presence in your section(s)
  • Maintaining an active presence within editor discussions

--Skills--
A wide variety of skills contribute to success in positions like these, and the listing below covers the kinds of things we're looking for in prospective team members. Of course, the more of these qualities you or your nominee have demonstrated in the past, the more likely it is that you'll work your way to the end of the selection process.
  • Excellent people skills and communicators
  • A helping demeanor
  • A passion for your area of expertise, and expertise in at least one specific overclocking/computing field
  • Perspective, vision, character
  • An active presence on the Overclock.net forum (ideally 5+ days per week)
  • Patience and persistence, with a thick skin
  • A proactive, yet methodical, approach
  • Pride in propelling Overclock.net forward to create the best member experience possible

--Compensation--
Officially, all but the reviews are volunteer positions and are not paid. However, we do offer as many perks as we can to 'sweeten the deal', including large discounts on site merchandise, lifetime Overclocked accounts/email, and other nice things through the course of each year. Of course, the largest benefit is that you can know you've had a role in shaping a second-to-none experience for tens of thousands of people to talk about something they love.

--Hardware Reviewer--
We are still accepting applications for our first hardware reviewer, which at this time is the only paid position available with the team.

As an Overclock.net reviewer, you would be paid monthly to take the latest and greatest hardware (which we provide to you for the purposes of the review) and generate high quality reviews in both text and/or video form; making use of excellent skills in evaluation, communication, and presentation of the final product. We are looking for a truly special person who can craft reviews that are as unbiased and informative as the absolute best anywhere. At the conclusion of a review, the hardware will be given to members of the Overclock.net community.

Please follow the standard nomination process to apply, and be sure to include links to both text and video reviews of computer hardware that you have performed; we'll go from there. These reviews do not have to be posted on Overclock.net - reviews that you have created for other sites are perfectly acceptable to demonstrate your skills. If you've not published any hardware reviews previously, you're welcome to select a piece of your own hardware and put together a sample review for the purposes of the application.

--Process Details--
Nominations should be made via the Overclock.net Ticket system, as a private ticket. Under the category field, please select "Job Application". Please use the format "Staff Position - Username" for your ticket's title, replacing "staff position" with the name of the position your nomination is for. If you feel you are qualified, please do not hesitate to nominate yourself!

In your nominations, do not include multiple members per private ticket. You are welcome to nominate more than one member, but please use a new private ticket for each one. You should include a description of why you feel your nominee is qualified, and also state what forums you feel they'd fit best in.

We will accept nominations until Friday, April 15th at midnight EST. From then, look for announcements on selections around the first week of May.

Thank you to everyone for your interest in these positions!

.....................................................................................

New staff will be recruited in three groups.

Group 1 recruitment date: Friday 6th May
Group 2 recruitment date: Monday 9th May
Group 3 recruitment date: Thursday 12th May

If you have been successful with your application you will receive a 'Private Message' with details before the date you are due to be formally recruited into the staff.

Is phaedrus a mod already? If not he should probably be a mod of the PSU section if he wants that position.
