Intel 510 series ssd owner's opinions

It has been nearly a month now since the release of the intel 510 series SSDs, I haven't found many ratings for the drive, and most of the bad reviews have been from conflicts with OSX. Has anyone had one of these drives for the last 2 or 3 weeks? Would you please comment on your opinion of the drive?

i am really happy with the drive. I'll qualify that by saying this is my first ssd drive and perhaps that's why i like it so much, but nonetheless i like the drive a lot.

Windows starts up amazingly fast and load times for games are great. For some reason my gut told me not to wait for the vertex 3 and get the intel. I just dont really trust ocz for some reason.

I feel the same way, I just ordered a new laptop with xoticpc.com (sager np8150-s1) with the 250GB intel 510, I am still waiting for it to come. I also don't trust the OCZ, and you can't beat intel's 3 year parts and labor warranty. I am also glad I didn't wait for the Intel 320 series which was just released today, after reading about, the 320 is a pretty disappointing drive with performance and price.

ya when i found out the 320 was sata 3gb/s i knew it wasnt the drive for me.

In a way i am sort of lucky that intel had the chipset recall. I would have built before the 510 was out and ended up with a c300.

Glad i was able to wait for the 510

My drive has been awesome so far...extremely responsive, 12-13 second boot up and 5 second shut down...I have absolutely no complaints, and the three year warranty and the fact that intel has the lowest fail rate of any SSS is a definite plus. Just make sure toget as much storage as you can...I am glad I never went with an 80gb x25-m back in the day, it would have filled up fast. Windows plus only a couple games and basic apps already filled 40gb so after a year or so, it shouldn't be tight.
