Crysis 2 kills my internet?

So when I try to play multiplayer it'll usually give me the "Connection to host failed" but after a few tries my internet always goes down until I unplug the router+modem. So any ideas what could be causing this? Or how this is even possible.

I used to have this problem too on multiplayer games. What it was for me was the server browser, it would try to load so many connections at once, my modem couldn't take it. Did the registry edit found here and it helped with TF2, not sure if it will help with any STEAM game, and thats assuming you have Crysis2 on STEAM. But I no longer need it at my new place, I guess this modem is just better than my old one.

No I have the retail copy. This has never happened before and I play quite a few MP games.

It might be that the modem is unable to handle the large amount of tcp/udp connections, wich forces a reset. I had this with one modem.
You wired or wireless?

It's not your internet. It's gamespy/Crysis game issue. Don't worry about it. Find a closer server and you will play forever. Might wanna check what NAT settings you have on.

Strict? Moderate?

Wired. Although you'd think I would've run into this before. What with BFBC2 TF2 CSS etc.

Edit: Lemme check the NAT...
