Which usually results in my GPU being upgraded. But that's not too often, since my monitor is only 1280x1024.

Yeah, overkill for a 2600k and a HD6870. But that way, I get 100+ FPS on every game, and my sig rig will last me for years to come.
exactly dude...my monitor's max res is also 1280x1024 so my h/w is also gonna last me a while(i think).....
and for me anything above 20 is playable.....

Depends, but for the most part if I see anything under 60, I derp like an angry llama.

I think you see at 20, but a computer is rarely consistent. I'd take 30+, but probably wouldn't watch it for a long time. 60+ is just eye sex.
