So, after all of the bashing, I have decided to try Crysis 2... - Page 3

I bought the game and I hate it, just like I did with MoH and Sniper Ghost Warrior.

What really ticks me off is that it cost $70 USD, same with MoH. At least SGW was only $30. We get ripped here with prices on anything and everything. One of the most expensive countries to live in, most over inflated property prices.

AU Dollar is = to USD Dollar at the moment and we get ripped still. Not a happy camper

Dunno why people hate Crysis 2. If graphics are your problem, Crysis 2 is the best-looking DX9 game that I have seen. If Crytek didn't tell us that it was DX9, I could honestly think that it was DX10.

I haven't played the multiplayer yet, but the Campaign is a lot of fun. There's a great mix of Metal Gear Solid in there! You can stealth around and use stealth kills to eliminate enemies.

As far as glitches go, a few graphical glitches here and there, however, I'm running a 'high-maintenance' setup with three GTX 480s in 3-Way SLI and Nvidia Surround (2D) at 5760 x 1200 (6000 x 1200 with bezel management), so, glitches are to be expected.

All-in-all, this is a GREAT-looking game! One of the best that I've seen, including recent DX11 titles. The gameplay is fun, and the storyline really drives you to get to that next checkpoint! I recommend this game to any action/shooter gamer!

Pros:
-Atmosphere
-Graphics
-Gameplay
-Story
-Music
-Interaction with the environment

Cons:
-A few glitches that a patch or two can fix

UrbanSmooth's Overall Review Score: 9/10!

THIS GAME IS AN URBANSMOOTH-APPROVED EXPERIENCE!

How can you possibly STILL not understand the anger at Crytek/Crysis 2 has NOTHING to do with how it looks/plays? Sure it looks fantastic for a DX9 game. But that's not the point. It's been said dozens, if not hundreds of times by now. Crytek promised a PC specialized version during development, and pretty much clear up to release, and then released a console port so obvious a 5 year old could tell.

If Crytek had said from the beginning that it was going to be the same on all systems, sure, there would still be bashing, but the fact is they said one thing, and did another, aka lying.

Also known as an "Activision," "Infinity Ward," or "bait-and-switch."

In case anyone forgot Activision waited until 1 month before release before telling the PC Community "Oh, yeah, we took everything out you were expecting in favor of a single version for all platforms." All the dedicated host providers out there were thrilled with that abrupt announcement too, I'm sure.

So, if Crytek pulled an Activision (Before Release: "PC, PC, PC" After Release: "Um, yeah, about that...") that's pretty damn sad.

Exactly, that's pretty much exactly what's happened. And that's what all the anger and hate is about. And it seems to me that most of the people who like the game simply refuse to see this argument even though it's been stated tons of times. I'm not knocking anyone for liking the game, god knows I like games that people hate (WoW, HALO, Pokemon, etc). I'm just saying open your eyes and LOOK at what Crytek did.

Here's my take on it. It's a bit long (the quoted part is mine as well), but I say it's worth a read.

Plays just fine for a PC game. No obvious differences over any other PC shooter. Sure, it may not have a sandbox editor, or console, but, so what? The gameplay is fun and it looks great.

And somehow you still COMPLETELY miss the point. The anger isn't about how it looks or plays... jesus christ is reading comprehension non-existent anymore?

Crytek said the PC version wasn't going to be a console port, and we got a console port, blatant lie from Crytek.

I just finished SP and really enjoyed it once I fixed the flickering issue. Hopefully it will only get better with updates.

You're worried about it being a port? If it's a port, it's the best port I've ever seen in my life. Have you even played the game?
