6870/5870 to much for PSU?

Hello, had a quick question I plan on purchasing a 6870 or 5870 and I was wondering of my PSU would be able to handle it? It is a Thermaltake TR2 W0379RU 500W ATX 12V v2.2 Power Supply. From what I have researched I may be cutting it close with this, but what is your guys opinion? Also if my PSU is not good enough what are your thoughts on buying used PSUs? There is a Mushkin 550 watt at the local pawnshop which seems to be a much better quality PSU. What do you guys think? Thanks for the help.
