we still have to wait and see how much they will cram in but yes it's a VERY VERY good thing. to give you an idea of it sun shadows(very demanding) take between 2-5ms. they are talking about a good chunk of overhead before damaging your current fps. the new engine is quite impressive so we will see just how far they go now that they are not having to cater to consoles.

i still don't know when they started making the patch but it has had to be for over one month at least now since the final product had dx11 setup for a patch in it. crytek germany has too many people and too large a pool of resources to guess how much they can accomplish when they are working on just graphics. I'd be lying if i said I wasn't extremely curious though

Hopefully this means Crytek is holding it back so they can cram some new features in for the game. If the engine natively supports dX11 and those features that means there won't be much an issue in implementation right?
