Assassin's Creed 2/Brotherhood Comparision

I thought I'd post a quick comparison of the two games if anyone wanted to see if there was a major graphical difference between the two. Both at 1680x1050 with 8xAA and everything maxed out. As you can see AC:BH in my opinion looks quite a lot better and also runs better, I experienced a constant 60-75fps while in AC2 with max settings and 8xAA I dipped to to low 40's at times. I tried to get them in similar locations but since the two games take place in different places it was not always possible. Anyways I'll let you be the judge.

It's a great game, I just started playing it yesterday. Definitely my favorite from the series.

I still need to finish the 2nd one...I have been wanting to pull the trigger on getting this one, however I know as soon as I do then I wont finish the 2nd one...Plus I am playing Crysis 2 right now and that is taking up most of my gaming time...

Yep, it got bashed for being similar to 2 but I think 2 was great and if it ain't broke why fix it?

Assassin's Creed 2 was amazing, I loved it. I was hopeful about Assassin's Creed Brotherhood as a result and I was perfectly right - I loved it as well. The graphics did indeed seem sharper and the gameplay was just as good with an engaging storyline as always. Indeed however, they improved on Assassin's Creed 2 with several small additions to extra missions and equipment. I'm all for continual improvements. I was never one to follow "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" - where's the fun in that!? biggrin.gif

Brotherhood actually seemed like a step down in the graphics department for me. The lighting in AC2 seemed better and the modeling the the actual fights seemed to be better as well. I noticed so much more clipping and model screw ups in Brotherhood. However, I liked both games as games enough to overlook the problems.

I noticed some crazy glitches during fights as well but overall, it looks much, much better.

Higher res textures and a better shadow engine. ACII's shadow engine was just awful.

Best Assassin's Creed I plaid, I completed the storyline last week, but still 65% sync, some missions to get full sync is a real challenge! Real good imo.

Let me just ask, who here noticed (or experiences) that Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (and Assassin's Creed 2, for that matter) doesn't remember your graphics settings whenever you start it up??
It's something that bothered me about Assassin's Creed 2 and the bug is still there for Brotherhood...
I start the game and the graphics settings only remember my resolution. I have to re-set everything else - MSAA, VSync, texture detail, etc. At the beginning I used to forget and would start playing and the game would look a bit dull with the VSync making it a bit choppy. That would always urge me to check the graphics settings and alas, they were not saved.
