There is only 938 pins in an AM3 chip, 941 contacts in the socket.

What i want to know is what does gang and unganged really do? Cause i had built a friend a pc and his ram wouldnt go into dual channel unless i set his ram to ganged, unless with am3 chips the ram goes into ram lost 0+1 not 0+2.

Srry if i thread jacked just really odd to me.

just been playing GTA 4 with ram set to ganged/128bit i think that mode well i got slightly more frames 1-3 but the frames were smoother they didn't fluctuate so much as when they were unganged/2x64bit

ganged 1x128 larger memory channel vs unganged 2x64 bit channels so ganged ganged effectively sets ram to a single channel so its faster for apps that only run a single thread but unganged is best for using applications that use multiple threads some thing like that
Im just seeing if there is any difference in gaming performance with ganged vs unganged
