IBM Model M - Page 4

NIB AT Model Fs were going for $100-$150 at the top of the popularity of that fad, and they're a lot rarer than Model Ms.

A plain old NIB 1391401 isn't worth more than a Unicomp Customizer ($80) unless there's something rare or unusual about it.

Used Model Fs sold for about $80-150. NIB ones on clickykeyboads.com sold for about $450.

Model Ms survive that quite well if you take the right steps to clean it up right after it happened

Graphics cards often develop problems if you spill a drink on them.

A Model M, on the other hand...

God bless those drainage channels.

I will sell you mine for 150 dollars....

Seriously don't do it. They can be had much cheaper for the basic model m. The black version with trackstick or industrial maybe, but not the plain old model m. They are good, but it isn't like they are made of gold.

Actually it's an act of selflessness. Having two is kinda greedy. Bet if you buy one and sit on it (Fig.) for some years, it only increases in value, inflation proof. Better than AAPL has been doing this year.

I actually spilled half of a 500mL waterbottle on my Model M Space Saver and I cleaned it up very nicely. I was scared the springs would rust but by design, the springs didn't even get touched. Those drainage points are a life saver.

Btw, I really want webwits SSK but I would be too afraid to use it. I'm the type of person that can't just collect, I must use and abuse it.

I paid $35 to $70 for my NIB Model Ms (the minis a tad more).

Timing is everything. Like AAPL.
