Switching Main GPU in Crossfire?

Thread Starter
Is it possible to Switch the "Main" GPU in Crossfire mode from the Top card (nearest the cpu) to the Bottom card?

I believe that the Bottom card get's much better cooling, hence if I can switch it to being the "Main" card in a crossfire setup it should run a bit cooler in non Crossfire usage...

I dont think it is. It will take the main GPU as the one thats in the first PCI-E slot on your motherboard.

What's the point in switching the main GPU?
Temps will be the same.

Actually the bottom card has better venting in most cases, as the heat will rise up to the top card during use. The Main (primary PCI) will do more work even in Crossfire mode, as it is the leading card.

By Switching cards the overall temps should be better, as the hotter card will now be on the better cooling location.

Just an idea that would benefit almost everyone with a crossfire setup.
