Bleeding UV Black Hose???

Hi guys.
I'm about to purchase some Feser UV Black Hose. But I have no clue how to bleed the loop after install. Does anyone have tips on how to do it? How can one be sure that all the air bubbles have gone?

Sure you can't see the bubbles anywhere except the res, but you can hear them in the pump. And if you make sure everything is secure, then tilting the rig while running the pump will shift all the bubbles just the same, clear tubing or black.

In addition to tilting the case, I also would recommend pinching the tubing throughout the loop. This will get rid of the small bubbles that form along the tube walls.

I have black tubing and I was able to bleed the system in several hours. About 5 days later, my system is about completely free of bubbles in the res

You won't be able to see bubbles except in the res or in clear-topped blocks. You'll be able to hear though if the air keeps getting run through the pumps. If that's the look you want I wouldn't worry, just be sure you have the res right before the pump and you'll be set.

Edit: I don't pinch the tubing, I just tap it a little with my finger so the bubbles move.

At first, the pump and everything will be pretty loud (Due to the air). As it gets works out, itll be quiet. I pinched and also flicked the tubing too. Whatever you feel comfortable doing

Good luck!

Tilting, no problem, but I have 2 rads in 1 top mount the other bottom. The top mount might be problematic. With clear hose it took me more than half hour to get bubble out. With black I know its gona be more headaches. I heard about dish washing liquid soap. is that method proven?

AJ: I also have two rads in my system (top and bottom). I wouldnt use dish soap (even a drop)- I read that it then leaves a white looking film on your blocks. Even though it may take time to get it bled, you certainly dont want to short cut anything which may be an issue later.

Pinching tubes worked great for me. What it does is increase the pressure just after where you pinched, which causes the water to push the tiny bubbles. Could get into the physics of it, but we'll skip the fluid dynamics

Don't worry about the soap, I'd leave it out. And it's completely normal for bleeding to take several hours. A full bleed (with all microbubbles out) often takes several weeks of operation, but the performance won't be affected. I'd run it for 6-12 hours and if she's leak free and sounds like the air has moved out, then I'd get her running. Otherwise a 24hr test is fine. Patience is key, it may take longer but I always let the pump do the work and just let it run overnight.

Edit:

Actually it's not the increased speed so much as the vortices/change in flow pattern that occurs with the pinch...

Thanks all you guys. I'll stay away from the soap. I think tilting is my only option. I'll just have to be patient.

^100% correct. Tilt (gently!), no soap, patience

Edit: Remember that the tilting isn't to shake the bubbles loose, it's to change the high point of the loops to allow rads and blocks to bleed out trapped bubbles more easily.
