Completely wipe CCC from the Harddrive using the ccc uninstall that they already have.

Install both card and put the two bridges across the two cards. I know you only need one but I like using two.

anyway. Start up computer and download the CCC and let the Driver configure. At the end it will ask you if you want to crossfire and you check the box and then run 3DMark and get some Benchies..

Done.

I've also recently got a second 5850 and so far it has been a nightmare. The only game I've seen any benefit of having two cards is Bad Company 2. Crysis 2 doesn't use the 2nd card at all and CoD 2 and CoD 4 just hard lock and I have to turn off the pc at the power. Furmark and all other stress tests run for 20 minutes without a problem so I think I'm gonna have to try other drivers, using 11.2 at the moment with CAP 11.2 4 not impressed at all so far. Seriously considering just getting rid of em and just getting a 6950.

Point 1) ^ Crysis 2 uses two or three 5850s in CrossfireX, with 11.2. Your setup is borked. Try reinstalling the cards and the Cats

Point 2) Your Q6600 @ 3.2 will bottleneck two 5850's. I know as I had that setup briefly before I got the 1090T in my sig rig (4.0Ghz)

Point 3) There are bugs with any number of Catalyst drivers that leave one or more 5850's @ 99% usage randomly; ATi either can't or won't fix it, so the only solution is to keep an eye on it, and reboot if it happens

Idk about you guys but when I got my 2nd 5770 I just uninstalled my drivers, turned off computer, installed cards with xfire bridge, restarted, and installed drivers + application profiles.

The one time I actually tried a driver sweeper was the ONLY time I've ever had any sort of driver issues. Since then, I never driver sweep and I never get problems

Also, every time I see driver problems, the person used driver sweeper. Could be a coincidence, could not, but its enough for me not to use it and I never get problems.

As for drivers, try the 11.4 drivers, they are pretty nice

See thats the thing crossfire works in all the benchmark tools and in BC2 fine. Its just Crysis 2, CoD 2 and CoD 4 I have the problems with. Tried reinstalling everytihng numerous times and no change. Definitely gonna have to go back to older drivers and try with them.

Just out of interest, are their common issues when running crossfire for the first time?

Getting alot of crashes....cleaned drivers twice, etc.

Going now to try running the new card on its own to see if its that causing the crashes....

This seems way overblown. I shut down my rig, popped in the 2nd 5770, connected the bridge and rebooted.
You don't have to uninstall any drivers. The drivers you have are already configured for the addition of the 2nd card. CCC will also usually identify it and enable Crossfire right away as well. If you want to roll back to older drivers, by all means uninstall first, but I never found it necessary.
And DriverSweeper elicits way more complaints/problems than any simple uninstall ever seems to. It's like it enthusiastically rips out common files that lead to instability somehow.
And using 2 Crossfire bridges is utterly useless in a dual setup. Unless the 2nd bridge is connected to a 3rd card, it's not even functioning.

That's true. I've never had to re-installed the driver for CF. I just simply turn off my comp, install the card + CF bridge then turn on again. CCC will automatically recognize the 2nd card. I don't even uninstall the driver when i do the driver update, i just install the new driver on top of the old one. It automatically un-install the old driver be4 it install the new one anyway, and i never have any problem with the driver ever.
