League of Legends w/ Lag?

Thread Starter
I'm thinking about starting to play League of Legends. However, I'm stuck with an ISP that delivers decent speeds, but with high ping. 1000ms+.

Should I download this game and even try to play it? It looks really good, and all of my friends recommend it.

Any input is helpful!

I won't sugar-coat it. You will have some hard times playing. So many times fights come down to fraction of a second decisions, that with lag you'll have difficulty playing. It also means you will have trouble getting last hits on minions, which will make farming for gold difficult as well.

With that said, the game is free, all you waste is your time and bandwidth if it doesn't play well, and if it does, well, free game.

That was my thinking exactly- If it doesn't work, no harm done.

You were right to the point, thanks for your input.

I play on US server and due to distance and crappy ISP i get around 380-480 ping, which is already bad. God forbid my net lags out and i spike into the 500-700 range O_o.

Tbh, playing at 1000+ you're not only ruining the experiece for yourself, but for your team mates as well...

I've taken that into account, and if there isn't a 1vs.1 mode, I'll probably have to use my dad's cellphone for tethering.
Though that is still pretty unreliable...

1000+ ping is a bit.... ridiculous. Even 100 ping makes me a bit weary.

There's no 1v1 mode. I would suggest this other post of mine to see what the game is about.

So I've been playing the game for about a week, and it plays fairly well- I never get disconnected, and the lag is livable. Playing during peak hours is not an option, (5-9 P.M.) but any other time it is bearable.
