Build a cool looking old crunker today - Page 2

True, but I mean it be mostly a waste getting the GPU I suggested then as it's not DirectX 9 and has no proper Windows 7 drivers, so in the end, it'd operate the same as that onboard anyway (more or less).

the GPU would only take about 5% of the stress off the CPU, not worth spending £20+ on a 256mb GPU card. lol

to the dude/girl above me, you realise your monitor can go up to 1920x1440 right? :O thats incredible resolution. http://www.superwarehouse.com/IBM_P2...52U3N/ps/38795

It does 2048x1536, but the readability/clarity above 1600x1200 starts to suffer, so I only use higher in some games.

thats pretty incredible, i would run at that res for desktop usage, then i'd change back to 1600x1200 for gaming

On these older CRTs, running it too high a resolution for the size of the screen makes it lose alot of quality. Stuff becomes too small and hard to see with a resolution of 2048x1536 in a 19.8" area, and that's atop the blurriness/fuzziness that occurs at that resolution.
