An 8800GT is still enough, even in 2011. - Page 4

You described quite clearly how you're incapable of maxing any games out. It makes for a decent PhysX card, nowadays. Should grab an HD 6850, or GTX 460, brah.

I know that when I killed my 260 I used a 6800gts to play BF:BC2, I had to lower the res to 1280x768 for it to be playable. I am sensitive to tearing on this monitor though, so playable for me is above 45 or so.

The 8800GT was probably the best card nvidia ever made. Just now in 2010-11 the 460/560 is starting to meet the same level of price/performance.
I have owned many, and plan on picking another one up as a collectors piece.

Ugh. Everyone is a critic.

My definition of maxing out a game is getting a game to yield an average of 30FPS at the maximum screen resolution, the highest possible settings.

I was not "maxing out" Crysis 2 by any means, but by my definition, I was maxing out BC2. Relatively speaking.

You should probably change the dictionary that you use.

You can't just make up a definition for a word. Maxing out a game is maxing out a game, and you are NOT doing it. You are not maxing out BC2 at all. It's finite!

Eddie.
