It's like 70% CPU bench, and 30% GPU.
Of course, but 'cause I still use XP(I'll change to W7 with SB), I don't have many options to use as a benchmark.

And besides that, I wouldn't mind to get results well over 20K... More like peace of mind if nothing else.

My main rig is a Q6600 which I run at 3.2 ghz 24/7. I'm happy with its performance and I'm sure i'll hold onto it for another year or 3

But EVENTUALLY it'll be upgraded

Download this.

You'll get instant info the second you start it.
OC more, if FPS increases, OC more.

When I had the 8800GTX I didn't need to OC my Q6600 to more than 3GHz, after that it was GPU bottleneck.

I had my Q6600 @ 3.0Ghz for 3+ years. Speed wise is good enough for gaming, and most of the work that I done. With a SSD in it, I can definitely see I can use it for another 1 or 2 years before I seriously need more processing power on a daily basis.

But then, I need more memory and DDR2 is expensive. Speed-wise, while Q6600 is still enough to handle most of I things that I do with it, a i7 2600k @ 4.5+Ghz beats it to death. So, I upgraded this week!

Still deciding what to do with the Q6600 + motherboard + 4GB ram. The obvious option is to sell them, but that won't get me much. I'm considering using it to build a spare PC (for what? I don't know...) or a PC for my dad.

Still have mine, had the money to upgrade but I passed on it. I figured that since I use a 22 inch monitor it can last me a little more.

It's a great CPU, mines is at 3.2 and running steady, however my computer has a little lag between programs and I can't figure out what that is.

I just got one maybe a month now?

Its fantastic. - and from the looks of it, this CPU isnt challenged seriously by even most modern games. So long as you have a nice GPU, the impression I get is that you'll game efficiently.

soooo. I <3 my CPU ^_^
(although I cant clock it past 3 GHZ...)

Q6600 = Michael Jordan!
Agreed! I've upgraded two times (major CPU/RAM/Mobo) sense my Q6600 days but, nothing compares to the first time I booted my Q6600 system.. It was like night and day P4 3.0GHz and 1GB DDR1 RAM too a Q6600 and 4GB DDR2 RAM wow I was in love!!!!

Yep upgraded twice sense Q6600 only difference I really noticed was in benchmarks. Yeah every upgrade made a difference just not enough to justify the money spent...

Q6600 CPU of the decade IMHO

I about upgraded too SandyBridge but, like you I realized I was spending money to "sidegrade" not upgrade.....
