GT 240 - Worth folding?

Thread Starter
My wife's rig pretty much sits idle during the day. It's my old rig and has a gt240 and AMD Athlon x64 Dual core 3Ghz. Would it be worth folding on either of those mainly the GPU? I should also add that it is running Vista 32bit.

Yea the GPU will get a nice amount of PPD to start with.
It should get around 4-5k if I am not mistaken.

Then when you get addicted we can get you to fold that 2500k.

Ok thanks. I figured I would start folding with the backup PC. Been reading through the FAQs on folding. Going to try and set things up tonight. Would the CPU be worth folding at all or no?

nah, not really worth it considering how little PPD you get for the amount of power it uses. I would guess the 240 gets more like 3-4k PPD

Ok. Thanks. I'll just stick with the 240 for now. I get some low temps on it. I might try and overclock it later.

The 240 is a fantastic overclocker. I can get 4-5k PPD on mine when OC'd, and i didnt push them very hard.

I get a pretty constant 4k PPD on my (fairly lightly) overclocked 240s.

My Sig rig is what I fold on and I average about 5.5k PPD with both my cpu and GT240 going.

What do you get from the 240 and how much of that is from the CPU? My shader clocks are slightly higher than yours on my cards, but I have a 512MB DDR5 card and a 1GB DDR3 card (and both get ~4k).

Just wondering how to alter my configs/overclocks to get a little more out of them if it's possible...
I get about 3.5k - 3.8k ppd from my gt240 and about 1.5 - 1.7k ppd from my processor.

Right now I do not have the OC for my processor active. We had a power blink a few weeks ago and I have not been able to get back to that clock in a stable state. I am hoping nothing is screwed up and that I am just missing something in my settings.
