Just returned my EVGA GTX 570 HD, which card to get? Update: Got HD 6950 2Gb!!! - Page 2

The new revision removed the Switchable Bios so no Bios flash on those new cards. Just get a Reference one and make sure it has the Bios switch. I'd suggest 3 brands Asus/Gigabyte then MSI, 3 of them don't require u to register and have 3 years warranty. They're best brand if you're looking to re-sell your cards in the future since you don't have to assist with your buyer for warranty purpose.

I am becoming less and less a fan of Nvidia, folding is pretty much the only reason I have their cards. I might looking into BOINC soon and switch to AMD (next generation)
You do know they're getting ready to release a new GPU client thats OpenCL that is supposed to drastically improve ATI folding

Okay guys, I am finally making my decisions on newegg.com, but I'm still having trouble choosing which card. I have not heard many info of the revision flowing into newegg and other retailers, yet I might just get unlucky and buy a unlock-able 6950. I still want to get an Nvidia card because of the non-existant drivers problems and almost no in-game bugs, yet Nvidia is just a little too much for me. AND on the other hand is really a bang-for-the-buck if it can be unlocked and is a great monitor if I ever go beyond 1080p. However AMD has terrible driver support and one of my favorite games is known to be very buggy with AMD cards. Help me out guys!!!!

Get an HD 6950, cross my fingers to unlock it and win a free pair of Sony 7506 headphones OR get a overpriced Nvidia GTX 570, have no driver problems and experience nearly flawless gameplay with little to no bugs. Which side, the Red or the Green side?

Also, what manufacturer should I pick that you think still havent sold all of their cards for the revision to flow in?

If you plan on going CF later on the 6950s and 6970s completely destroys any competition on higher resolutions.

I read recently about a few people unlocking a few HIS cards.

I am looking for a 1 card solution. 2x 460's is inconvenient for me and you cannot add another 460 when you need to, but with a stronger 1 cards solution you can.

I don't think its downgrading. A 6970 beats a GTX 570 in a lot of benchmarks, and is said to be a stronger card held back by its drivers. PhysX isn't a big thing for me.

I have one more idea, get a GTX 560 and then just SLI in the future. The only problem is for around $25 more I can get a stronger HD 6950 with 2 Gb of VRAM. I do like PhysX in metro and AA but I already beat metro and it is said that AA (archam Asylum) doesn't hold your card back very much with PhysX. Heck, I can always get a hacked physX card for my AMD card, right?

So far, I'm planning on going HD 6950 and save a few bucks, and used the saved $$$ on a pair of Sony 7506 headphones

The Nvidia fanboys have taken over the thread I see.

GTX 580 is probably the worste price/performance card. Go with 6950/6970. Superior CF scaling + more Vram if it matters to you.

Actually the 590 and 6990 are the worst..
Just sayin'.

6950 and headphones. Hopefully your unlock goes smoothly.
The MSI Twin Frozr II's are awesome 570's, but unfortunately they do dump heat into the case.
