Just curious but can u show me some proof of this. I do realize that u can get basically the same o/c with lower volts while w/c. Which means lower volts equals less heat. But I've never seen a air system beat a w/c setup temp wise CPU only or more blocks added. As for op temps people tend to fail to realize that no 2 peoples temps are going to be the same even if u have the exact same setup in the same room. People also tend to think just because ones temp is higher than another there is something wrong, once again not tru. What I will say is reseat all ur w/b clear all ur air out ur system and give it a week or 2 and chk ur temps. If they are still to high for ur comfort than u can start narrowing ur problems down. Either u have a bad pump or it could be human error and u could be missing something real simple

Using fans at 850 rpm equals human error. Unless u want ur fans that quite and in that case expect higher temps

it's actually lower temps with higher volts.

IIRC, by running the CPU cooler at the same OC you'll increase electrical efficiency a bit-and thereby decrease power draw. Not much in the grand scheme of things maybe a handful of Watts-but a bit.

i've yet to get the same OC's with lower volts when i made the jump from air to water. could've been the chips i've used or just bad luck.

hm.

I didn't say lower volts, I said less draw due to greater efficiency.

I suppose it might be visible in less vdroop.

Thread Starter
i re applied MX 3 paste and reseated the block same crap from air to water difference is 4 deg and i have the fans at 1200 now

Unless the venx is that good ? OR my cpu just Fing sucks

im idling 3 deg lower then what i would normaly be 48 47 44 44

makes me wonder the point of doing water cooling

Water cooling with the CPU only is pointless. D14 will get job done. Water cooling is for Multi GPU setups.

My 930 does 4.2 with 1.3 volts
have you checked out the Official Gigabyte GA-X58 UD3,5,7,9 thread
Definitely, you need to have it pump rad cpu res
