Not impressed with Water cooling - Page 7

Another thing don't check your temps on idle, they don't mean squat. Put it under load, double check for bubbles in your system etc. You should be seeing at least 5-10c drop from really good air cooling if it's done right.

But going from the pump to the RAD then to the CPU then res then PUMP wouldn't this get the temps back to the same result ? Eventually the water will be the same temps wont it ?

Order means squat as long as you go res > pump for safety reasons (this isn't a concern since you have the xspc combo res/pump). The water temp will equalize regardless of order.

Whoa those are some hot idle temps.
Its not the same chip but I have my quad at 4.6gig and my idle is about 30c.

I am asking myself what are the OP´s temps under load?

Secondly I am not sure who said it but the Rasa is not among the top three blocks lol
I would rather categorize it within place 7-8 ...it is a great value/performance block but thermally and flowwise it cannot hold up with Koolance, EK ,AC , Swiftech and Co

The fans coming with the Rasa Kits are really bad so you might wanna follow the advice already given and get some Gentle Typhoons.

In terms of thermal paste...for i7 chips the line method will always yield the best performance....I might add though that the mounting system of the Rasa isn´t the best so be sure to have perfect conductivity between block and cpu.

Another important question would be what coolant you are using and what your Idle + load temps actually are
