BSoD issues

Thread Starter
I've been gaming on my new rig for the better part of the last two weeks. Over that time period I've bought multiple games, the most recent, BF2BC. Well, anyways, since downloading and playing BF2BC I've been experiencing BSoD errors. I haven't had issues with any other games (Borderlands, Arkham Asylum, or Portal). The BSoD error is 0X00000124, not sure if that helps.

Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting or what my issue is?

Looks like you'll have to tune your cpu oc a little, try adding extra vcore or QPI/VTT. After that just stability test it and see if it happen's again or not

Ugh, seriously? I really didn't want to overclock, yet. I was under the impression everything would run fine. If I must, I need to buy a real cooler first. I'm still using the stock one.

hmmm so your at stock and that's happening? 0x124 is usually either too much or too little vcore, QPI/VTT

Yeap. I haven't touched any settings as of yet. Are there any other issues I might be having? BF2 is the only game that is giving me BSoDs.

Interesting..

Do a stability check using Prime95 or intelburn

Then I'd say check your ram too.

any possibility of viruses in your system?

I'll do the stability checks. And, I'm pretty sure there isn't any viruses. I'm pretty cautious and have AVG.

Go to Control Panel>System>Advanced System Settings>Advanced>Startup and Recovery and set your machine to write a minidump when it happens, then either post it in here and I (or someone else) can take a look, or open it yourself (you can use something like BlueScreenView )and have a look if there's any more information in there regarding why it's happening.

As someone mentioned, though, it's probably due to hardware so it may just be a very generic BS.
