BFBC2 feels laggy when moving.

I dont know if it is me but BC2 has never felt nice to play in regards to movement. It tends to feel laggy and heavy. The last few patches have sorted alot of the issues out and movement has improve. It however just doesnt feel as smooth to move as other titles. I noticed that when zoomed in my turning speed also becomes slower and feels unaccurate.

COD BO also does not feel smooth when turning and feels heavy and laggy. Im not sure if its the way the game is meant to feel or if its the result of yet another poor port the pc always seems to get now. If so companys needs to pull their finger out of their arse and realise the mouse is extremely important when playing fps and its crucial its perfect to use.

I also hate playing COD because heavy weapons feel heavier to move. Why do they do this its stupid and makes no sense. Every weapon should feel the same. No point in this. I just hate the way fps games how gone. Consoles have got their grubby littel mits on them.

I would check your sensitivity levels, and see if you have mouse acceleration on. Negative acceleration will make you turn slower the faster you move the mouse. What mouse do you use?
I use "BC2 Configurator" to turn off the mouse negative acceleration.
But since you have the problem with other game.
It may be your mouse

Well BO is just a buggy game and everyone i have spoken experiences the same issues as me. BO feels like is has smoothing and negative acceleration on.

I though the new patches fixed acceleration and smoothing?

I just downloaded the BC configurator and it has made BC2 a much better experience with my mouse now.

Blackops runs with WM_MOUSEMOVE. It's common for a quake based engine to use this although valve finally added raw/direct input (WM_INPUT) to the source engine after 7 years.

Quote:
When you move your mouse ingame, your cursor in the background (windows desktop) moves as well. So everytime that your cursor moves to the edge of your desktop, windows will automatically recenter your mouse to the middle of your desktop screen again. The heavy negative acceleration that you’ve got is due to the fact that your windows cursor has to constantly recenter itself once you hit the edge of the screen.
Essentially, if you can't keep enough FPS beyond a certain point, you'll get negative acceleration.

Do you have a mousefix installed? If not, you'll get positive acceleration due to the game relying on windows' cursor based coding. I personally had no trouble with blackops, but then again I was always at 120+ fps.

I heard BC2 has pos accel coded into raw input, but I'm not sure how that works.

Yes i have markC mouse acceleration fix. The configurator actually pretty much fixed the issues i have had on BC2. It was acceleration and smooth and this tool disabled it somehow and i dont know what else it did skylit. The program is called BC CONFIGURATOR. The guy who made it has put alot of work and tweaking into it.

On the subject of COD skylit. MWF2 runs fine for me no acceleration issues. Or do treyarch use a different engine of some sort?

Nope, still a quake based cod engine, although it's a lot more taxing on the CPU for some odd reason.

well MWF2 does not suffer from the same issues that BO does. Come to think of it COD 4 doesnt either. I fired up WaW the other day and movement didnt feel as good as COD 4 and MWF2. So maybe its something treyarch are doing wrong.

I just wish devs would stop fanning around and make pc games run without any acceleration or input lag. 1:1 raw input.

Its not difficult.

You get less FPS than you do with MW2 or COD4.

type /cg_drawfps 1 in console.

Dev's still use WM_MOUSEMOVE because thats the way they received the engine and license from quake or unreal.
