I nominated Morrowind. Now if they remade the game with overhauled Oblivion graphics... *Orgasm.*

It isn't an official remake, but it is definitely worth checking out Morroblivion.

How do you plan on even having people vote on the games, still don't see how this is going to work exactly

Once we reach enough nominations (I am hoping for a thousand), I will then pick the most nominated game. For example: if there are 500 nominations for Deus Ex, then obviously that will be first place. Then I will find the second most nominated game and that will be second place and so on till we get to fifth place. Once that is done we will be nominating games for 6th through 10th place.

I am going to redo the OP to explain it better.

Edit: @thirdeyeop3n I didn't see your name in the list. Make sure you post your vote in the form.

Let people nominate 5 times for 5 different games that are their favourites, then just do the list all at once. Otherwise this will take years to complete.

For example, I would nominate:

BG2
Deus Ex
TF2
Diablo 2
Morrowind

And UserX would nominate:

Deus Ex
BFBC2
Bioshock
Call of Duty
Doom

You'll get the results a lot faster, and as long as people vote for their 5 favourites and don't repeat a vote, you'll get much better results. As it is, I love a lot of games, but if you only get to pick one you are going to pick your favourite, so you will have too much overlap over too long a time. Having 5 votes allows for stuff like old Lucasarts adventure games to be included, because they are amazing, and I'm sure someone would vote them in, but probably not in their number one spot.

Ultima Underworld, the greatest game ever made. One of Warren Spector and Origins early projects.

Uses the system shock engine, or should I say, System Shock uses the Ultima Underworld engine.

Legend has it that John Carmack saw the tech demo for UU in 91 and from that began writing his first 3d renderers.

He may not want to admit it, there is no denying he saw the tech demo at a trade show (Pax I believe) before Id released any 3d games.

Anyway, its probalby the best game ever made, not just because of its amazing graphics for its time, but because of its open ended gameplay, sandbox world where the gameplay possibilties are endless, and the game world is truly massive.

Heres some more games

X-Com
