Hey guys and gals, I thought I would make a build log for the MadKat Games watercooled 700D. My plan is to sell this when I'm done. I got some nice deals on the components so hopefully I can make a small profit.

Lets kick this off with a stock picture of the 700D.

First thing to do is to drill out some rivets. Here's a picture of the false floor, hdd cages, and lower panel removed.

I also remove the optical drive bay, and the motherboard, the front bezel, and the I/O PCI bracket thing. After some careful measurements, I draw out couple fan-holes on the lower front portion of the case frame.

Notice that the holes are not centered- this is on purpose.

After a few minutes with a dremel-

After some sanding-

view from the inside case-

Man, cutting up cases makes me hungry
I'm in the mod for a rad-sandwich! Nutritious and delicious!

I start out with some Gentle Typhoon 1850's, an XSPC RX240 radiator, some true silver bitspower barbs, and some 1/4" thick rubber fan shrouds.

I had to modify the fan casing because of the semi-closed corners. Here's what they look like after some dremel work-

Here's a picture of the nice allen/button head bolts I will be using to attach the fans. Yummy!

This part's easy. Make sure the fan is oriented the right way for the situation and screw it down over the rubber spacer, using the allen wrench.

First two fans attached.

I have to mod a allen key for the next step so out comes the dremel again!

Now the allen wrench will fit so I can attach the second RX240 rad.

Next I attach a couple white fans to the rad.

Then two more GT's to the front, and the sandwich is made!

Fits up nicely

I remove all the grommets and the removable plastic tray from the motherboard tray.

Then I take out the standoffs and apply blue tape to the backside of the motherboard. I then paint these 3 pieces with primer and white enamel.

After one good coat of primer, and a couple coats of enamel, Painting looks to be done Painless!

Time to wait a few hours, watch some tv and have a few beers.

Fast forward, using some white rivetts to reassemble the parts and attaching the rad-sandwich, it looks beautiful

I made the front intake fan holes off center so I could fit the EK restop/D5 pump behind it. I have it attached to the case using a 1/2" thick gel-pad to help absorb vibrations. there is about 1/8" between the widest part of the pump and the res/side panel. The t-splitter coming off the res is for a drain line. It might be better to have this come off the pump- not sure what do you think?

I put three 2000rpm silent eagle fans on a RX360 and attached the rad to the top of the case. I am using some rubber washers between the case and the rad to help reduce noise. Here are a few pictures of how it stands now.

Stay tuned for more updates-

Thanks guys!

Well, I did some work on the motherboard. I removed the north/south bridge heatsink and replaced the thermal compound with some shin-etsu x23. I took a good look at the indentions left in the thermal pad by the mosfets. They were all making contact, although I think a extra bit of pressure will help. When putting the heatsink back on, I placed some plastic washers on the backside, between the spring-screws and the board for a little more pressure. I also removed the Dr Mos plate from the top of the heatsink. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of this.

Next I removed the stock amd cpu bracket and backplate, and installed the backplate for the Kryos waterblock. Then I applied a thin layer of thermal paste to the 1100T.

I removed the sticker off the bottom of the waterblock and took some pictures-

Heres what it's looking like with the cpu, waterblock, and ram installed.

It's time to get the cards wet! I'm using Sapphires 2GB Eyefinity 5870's

EK backplate, 5870, and Aquacomputer 5870 block.

After removing some screws, here's the card-

Removed thermal goop-

oooh shiny!

little bag-o-goodies that came with the block-

Here's a picture of 3 different screws. The longer, black screws came with the EK backplate, but are made to go with the ek block, so they are too long. The short button head screws came with the aquacomputer waterblock, but are to be used with a backplate (too short). I bought the silver allen-head screws from Tacoma screw and they are the perfect length

The instructions said to use thermal paste on the ram and the gpu, so I did-

After test fitting the card, I notice that the ram is not making contact with the block (or the backplate on the top side) so I end up using the thermal pads that were on the stock cooler. I'm not sure if this block is compatible with the 2gb eyefinity version of this card, but I will find out heh.

Block and backplate installed

Seems to make contact now in the right areas- lets hope

After fitting the waterblock and backplate on the second card, I install the twin connect crossfire fitting. I'm running the blocks in parallel, but the kit comes with a plug so you can run the cards in series. I chose parallel as I am hoping for better overall flow.

The twin connect kit came with a clear acrylic replacement inlet/outlet connector, but I didn't want to use it, so I drilled out the threaded holes on the black connector that came with the block and used that instead to maintain the all black look.
