1920x1200 Gaming - Page 2

I would say get the 6950 and unlock it to the 6970 bios and shaders. If you unlock a 6950 and overclock it, it will give you amazing performance and be much faster than a 5870. You basically get a 6970 for the 6950 price, a great deal. Just make sure to get a reference card so you can unlock it.

i have a 3.2 q9450, 8gb ram, 1920x1200 + 1440x900 external.
video, 5850

on a clean install i can play bad company 2 all maxed out without the HOB or w/e its called.

I know you said nvidia, but i just wanted to throw it out there..

I'd recommend something above 5850... maybe spend a few extra bucks to not have to worry about ur gpu for a while..

just a thought

Thread Starter
Yeah, the 570 and the 6970 are comparably priced. It seems like a lot of money now, but over a few years, it's actually pretty reasonable.

Still, I am not going to pick up one for at least another month, we'll see how things play out for system requirements of some of the games I listed.

thx everyone. (more comments welcome)

You Do need a decent card at those resolutions,

Any of the latest gen gpus should handle it,

I was good on a single GTX 285 and when i sli'd they pwn at 1920x1200.

But i've been looking at these

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...14&subcat=1750

So cheap, and so fast!!

the 5870's would be good, they were on the same site for £150 EACH!! but as you can imagine they got snapped up pretty sharpish!

For Crysis you're gonna need a beefy card, at 1920x1200 thats a lot of pixels to crunch.

Keep us up-to-date with you're choice and reasoning.
