alright now is v drop bad for a cpu? im at 1.175v set in the bios but in cpu z it goes between 1.12 and 1.14v usually 1.14 idle and 1.12v load. is that bad? its 12hrs prime 95 stable. i tried 1.15v in bios and it failed in 30min cuz i bsod

so what should i do for the voltage? turning LLC on makes it 1.136v constant, and its 12hrs prime 95 stable at 1.136v and 1.12v lol

Are these temps okay aswell.

E8400 @ 3.6ghz (600mhz oc) at under clocked volts of 1.125 to 1.14, ON STOCK intel heatsink and fan

Idle 28-32c
Load 40-50c
Prime95 Small ffts 55c

4890 gfx card
40c idle
60c load

Those are unbelievable temperatures for the stock cooling, but are they for the CPU or cores themselves? The cores usually run a bit warmer (unless you get an odd CPU like mine where the CPU and both cores are almost always identical).

Vdrop/Vdroop won't harm it. It's been so long, but I think my C0 stepping Core 2 Duo E8400 needed ~1.18V for either 3.6GHz or maybe that was even just for stock, but either way, those are decent voltages for 3.6GHz, and they're even more than decent temperatures for the stock cooler.

You might want to give Intel Burn Test a try too. For the longest time, my CPU passed Prime95, games, and seemed 100% boringly stable at 4.0GHz, until The Sims 3 BSODed on me one day. Someone recommended me to try Intel Burn Test, looked at the BSOD log, and said everything pointed to CPU, and sure enough, it failed. Bumped the voltage a few notches for insurance and it passed, so give that a try too. It seems it might catch what others won't.

I'd say it looks good overall. You might even want to consider 3.8GHz or 4.05GHz since your temperatures are so well, but you will see more heat and need more voltage, and neither will be as much of a "sweet spot" factoring everything in as 3.6GHz is.

Yeah i have a very rare batch and E0 stepping, my brother has the same one and has 4ghz stable at 1.18v and 45 load with a hyper212+

as for IBT, at 1.175 in bios and well 1.12 to 1.14 in cpu z (1.14 idle 1.12 load) i got a max temp of 60c for 50 passes at the stock default 1.25v i got 70c but why run it at 1.25 when its stable at 1.175 and runs 1.12 to 1.14 in cpu z and 60c max in ibt . and these are for the cores, i never look at the cpu itself its always 5c lower then the cores. now, should i turn LLC on so its always at 1.14 load and idle? or keep it so its 1.14 idle and 1.12 load.

im just worried that since its 1.175 in the bios and 1.14idle and 1.12 load that that low of a drop/vdroop is bad.

btw what temps could i expect with a hyper212+ seeing as i just ordered one lol(will only stay at 3.6)

AND LOL stock cooler and im idleing at 23c with the stock fan set to 1700rpm(max) at 800 rpm its at the high 20s (26-29)

To my knowledge, enabling LLC is fine unless you are reaching the limit for vcore and worried about a rise or spike. I could be wrong though. I enable LLC on my setup. Regardless, 1.175v is super low still. Why are you worried about it? My E8400 EO stock voltage is 1.25... doh.gif

cuz my volts are super duper low yet im 600mhz overclocked lol. 25.8gflops on ibt

and the mass vdrop/droop. apparantly aslong as my volt is 1.11 or higher i can run at 3.6ghz stable. but the moment i go below 1.11 i'll bsod. and at 1.175 in bios i get 1.12load 1.14 idle volts XD
