Hi my names luke im 19 and i live in london, england im a pro tools engineer by trade.

My computers ok but I have only 32-bit windows 7 which i feel is letting my system down.

Ive had alot of trouble with my computer which is tedious at times as I feel its not running like it should be. getting 51c at 2.40Ghz is not right with a 930. and when i overclocked it to 4.2 it was idling at 68c haha!

Ive come to overclockers to find some answers and i know theres alot of people on here who know there stuff as i was seeing people clock there computers over 7000Mhz!!

Cheers guys i look forward to hearing about your computers and how bloody good they are!

Well, for a start, you won't be accessing all of your 6Gb of RAM. 32 bit can only address approximately 3Gb, and that's including any memory on your GPU.

How did you get the Win 7? I believe that a lot of the CDs came with both 64 and 32 bit OSs. You'd have to reinstall the OS (losing all of your files) but would be worth it.

The temps seem pretty high. How did you put the CPU cooler on? The V8's not the best cooler, but should give better temps than you have.

Welcome to OCN. Where in London? I lived in Kilburn for a couple of years.

Well done for adding the system specs... now do it in the proper place. Click on 'User CP' at the top of the page and then 'edit system'

Fill you specs here
We usually frown upon asking questions on the New member's area
but i don't really mind

win 7 32-bit is what makes you feel like you're slowing down. especially since 32 bit only uses 3 gigs out of whatever you have total.

As to your temperatures they are kind of hot for a V8
I'm idling 25C on mine at 3.6 and like 35c maybe You did not seat it well or din't apply right amount of TIM?

if you used arctic silver 5 it breaks in about 200 hours of use and then it drops in temperature

EDIT:
PS

welcome to OCN

It wasn't intending to ask any questions if you took it that way im sorry I was only telling you of my situation.

Ok so thats updated, I got my win 7 through microsofts ultimate steal offer they would only let you have one or the other, me being an idiot at the time brought the 32-bit for £30 so id have to buy the 64-bit at full price... but Im not looking forward to going to 64 bit as i have alot of stuff that i will have to re install to get them working again meh!! but i will reseat my cpu tommorow.
