Oh ouch, you're in Canada?

CLP=Canon Loyalty Program, where you call up Canon USA and send in a broken Canon point and shoot (can be found online for ~$15) for a refurbished DSLR at a very good price. You can find info here.

Given the prices though, if you've a good friend in the States that you can trust, I'd try to jump on this. Even with shipping from your friend to you it'd be cheaper than buying a new DSLR outright.

Ah thank you again

I may pick a used one up off CL, but if you're right that's almost $200 cheaper than a USED one here.

I did not know about this program. Conveniently, my sister has a few broken canons (she does not take care of her stuff) that I could use.

Lucky guy.

You could probably get a decent turn around by picking up a few refurbs and reselling them.

I currently have a Panasonic HDC-TM700 for sale in the Video section. I've only had it 3 weeks and it looks and runs like new. Let me know if you are interested.

btw the GH2 is garbage in video mode stay away from it. this is all assuming that you happen to change your mind since noone read the OP

as far as camcorders go since that is what you are actually interested in a lot of people still use the HV40. im still waiting to see if anyone pushes that new sony handicam that offers interchangeable lenses a try. but in your price range try to stick with those canons, im not a fanboy its just every company is stronger is different markets. and strangely enough canon has the high and low end markets covered nicely lol

i hope that was helpful if you want to know more just ask and i will give you an honest answer of course and im not afraid to say i dont know just to cover my butt
The GH2 is an amazing camera in video mode. What are you talking about???

so you produce video professionally and can back this camera up? i have tested every DSLR on the market for video and the GH2 is extremely sub par and not recommended for anything more than home movies.

not sure what you are comparing its quality to. but the t2i has a better video mode by far than the GH2.

best dslr for video is the 1dmk4 because of its sensor size but the 7D and 5D are a little better to work with and both have different strengths and weaknesses that make them a good combo to use together. ideally though a 7D 1Dmk4 would be a really good combo.
