Help choosing my crossfire/sli setup.

Okay. I'm currently in the process of having a gaming rig put together and I'm having a really hard time deciding on my gpu setup. Hoping you guys here at OCN can help me decide.

I'll be gaming at 2560x1600 res and using a sandy bridge 2600k with a p8p67 deluxe mobo.

Anyways these are my choices.
- 2 3gb gtx 580s
- 2 ati/amd 6970s
- 1 6990 + 1 6970 in trifire

What setup would you guys go with if money wasn't part of the decision. Thanks in advance.

I know the 580's would be faster then the 2 6970's..But Wouldn't the 6990 + a 6970 perform better for about the same price?

ofcourse go for hd6990+hd6970....it blows 2x gtx580,
hd6990+hd6970 is the most powerful gpu setup for your mobo
note: only fan boys will ask u to take 2x gtx580....but the fact is that hd6990+hd6970 is a much more powerful setup

2 GTX 580's hand down man, Best Single GPU cards performance wise.. and Physx being a great plus point... It'd be a better option then that GTX590 they have..

Trust me, it will be a beats of a setup, I myself was going to get Quad SLi 580's last month but then I thought I should delay a couple months so the prices drop a bit..

Has anyone seen a review of 6990 and a 6970 in trifire? I'd love to see one before I make any final decision.

wait... this logic a 6990+ 6970 in trifire?

why not just get 3x6970

because with 6990(2x6950's)+6970 =/= 6970x3

Because im getting a sandy bridge mobo no room for 3 cards as far as I know. Id rather run 3 6950's unlocked but I cant sadly. So im asking what would be the best 2 card setup excluding 2 6990's or 590's cause quadfire scaling sucks. I'm assuming it would be a 6990 plus a 6970, but i'm not sure which is why i'm here looking for opinions.
