Ran the warm shader, didn't do anything methinks, although I'll check the multithreading, however, my CPU usage was 100%, meaning that both cores were being used?

Was yours a Steam version? Maybe that had something to do with mine (Steam perhaps wasn't patching).

It runs silky smooth for me.

It plays fine on my girlfriend's rig which has a weaker video card than my sig rig. Did you try changing the video settings? I turned off shadows and turned everything else max and it runs around 70 - 80 frames at 1680 x 1050.

XFX 5770
2GB DRR2 ram
Windows 7 32 bit

My sig rig runs it around 90 fps most of the time (CPU bottleneck).

Works fine for me. Occasional random dips, but otherwise fine.

I agree though, it does run much better on a triple core or higher. When I had my 2600k it was silky smooth 100% of the time.

As I said in a post above I put the settings on HIGHEST (everything) and then EVERYTHING on lowest and it made zero difference on the framerate. Perhaps Steam didn't properly patch it or something. I'll try a re-download on Steam and see how that works out.

Man i love custom configs. Pics looks amazing and it looks EXACTLY as a PC!
I wasn't comparing the two, I was comparing the situations both of the games are/were in. Crysis 2's demo was notorious for it's lack of optimization due to it being a console port (and a bad one at that) and Black Ops is no exception. I was not trying to compare the two games themselves.

I did use the Crysis config tool, and it helped, but not much. The game was simply ported badly. Same thing goes for Black Ops. The game is a terrible port, even with my custom config file it runs extremely slow. No difference in performance. There's not much that can be done by the general public, Treyarch needs to fix it.
Retribution.

I get like 90-180 fps with a stock i7 920 and stock 5850. Yep, currently not OC'd.

1920x1080 4x MSAA. Max everything else.

Game runs a lot better than it did at launch. Infact, I think it's running better than some of the old MW2 benchmarks.

Who the hell cares if it's CRYENGINE? It isn't very special seeing as the game is still a DX9 console port.

Blackops runs on a heavily modified Quake engine just like it's predecessors, although I doubt Treyarch knows what they're doing in the PC department since some dual cores and some GTX400 series cards are hitching for god knows what reason.
