My 2500k also draws 1.428 at 4.6 during prime 95, fully stable.

Make sure you have cpu pll overvoltage enabled as you may need it to be stable over 4.4

Correct. PLL Overvoltage should be enabled, but you'll actually want to DECREASE your PLL voltage if its possible.

If you BSOD'd at 3hours in, you're VERY close. You can likely get it stable with one or two small bumps in vcore more. If you're at 1.45v now, I'll bet 1.46-1.47v would stabilize it.

And I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to push it too terribly hard. 4.6GHz is still a solid clock, and won't hold your rig back at all. Just make sure you do the right testing to ensure its stable (12 hours of blended forcing 3/4 of your RAM). If it passes stable, LOWER your voltage until its unstable...then put it back to last known stable. That'll help keep your temps in check.

I would imagine 4.6 should be doable around 1.35v or so, if not less.

Your spot on its on 1.35 on the dot, and stable for overnight test, i really cbf lowering the volts and re test overnight im happy with 1.35 and the temps are really good, i think taking it to 1.47 would work but isnt that too high for a 24/7 clock thats the only thing im scared of ?

1.47 is not that high , but that depends on what cooling u have
NH d14 is good but u r room temp also plays a big role.
if u r not hitting 85+ in prime at 1.47 V then u r good else i would not recommend unless u go with water cooling setup

Please tell me if i am wrong and if it is safer to put the specs down.
That's pretty much how I test too, but I leave prime running even less time than you do. I have to restrain myself or my OCD takes over.

safe voltage , not sure
but i m sure ppl reach around 1.5V
till 1.5V is its safe , max 1.55 to see whts u r limit of u r chip .
temp it will start throllin abv 92+ C and crash by 98 C - auto switch off

so i would say safe temp would around 85- 90 C in prime 95 . since practically u are nvr goin to touch anythin near by that

Official Intel specs report 1.52v max for the sandy bridges as "safe". Some people do hover around the 1.50v mark for max oc with decent cooling depending on the temperature. Don't let the temps go over 86 for 24/7 use maybe.

1.52 is not freaking safe. Also 86°C is to much.
Well if intel says it is, I'm sure it's okay as long it stays under what ever the "safe" temp range is
